look i love

sequins, whether they may be a bold legging or jacket really bring a simple look together.
lauren conrad got this look perfectly with minimal hair and makeup with a simple minidress, accessorizing with a sequin jacket and shooties

PERFECTION

winter must haves

unforgiving winters in the midwest may be an obstacle for my style
(..sigh i was a baby and wore sweats out in public for the first time, without it being mandatory for travel in sporting events...)
i have realized the craziness of my behavior today ( I literally have not worn tennis shoes unless strictly for athletic purposes until I had to wear them in college)
and realized, the cold cannot down my spirits. its time for me to get my creative mind thinking and use the basis of 5 pieces to go all through the winter.

a leather jacket is a must with everything from a big t with tights, to formal dress attire
fitted blazers look sharp as well as well proportioned oversized blazers that layer oh so well
A FAVORITE OF MINE. A SUPER COMFORTABLE SWEATER WITH A
RIDICULOUSLY GORGEOUS STATEMENT NECKLACE
fur pieces not only make you look wealthy and put together, but function warmly as well
no marshmallow coat please, stick with a fashionable coat and layer fleece underneath

look i love

the simplicity of flashy sequin tights and a loose shirt-blouse makes for the perfect combo!
the combination seems so off but works so well
if you want to try it out, i would suggest making sure the tights fit a little looser than tighter
reason being that when tights are super tight, they just end up squeezing thigh fat,
so thus when you get them more fitted than tight, they even everything out and slim you down

heels please :)

lace and leather

when one thinks of sexy, at least when i do, its lace and leather.
an obsession of mine has been to find a leather mini dress to pair with a simple tee under.
a great example is shown from a fashionable lookbook girl that mixes both oh so well
and has inspired me into a whole new look

the way to pull off this look is to find a leather mini dress
a great option is from h&m (39.95)
paired with any sort of tee

(but please no tight up to the collar crew necks)
think loose, low cut, scoop necks
and finished with a great pair of nude pumps

makes for a chic, pulled together look instantly
its a classy way to make leather not so trashy

bohemian lovely

i've always carried a girly or grungy chic wardrobe and was never into the boho look. one in part because longer skirts made me look frumpy and i could never get the effortless look with it. coming to the realization that maybe i could pull off a boho look in my new location of lincoln, nebraska, a teen vogue spread sparked a new obsession for this look

Red Stain

Everybody wants to rock the red lip, nobody thinks they can. Well here's a newsflash- you can. But there are a number of things you must first keep in mind.

1. The red lip must match your skin under-tones. Here are some general guidelines:
-Fair skin is complimented by coral reds

-Medium skin is complimented by anything from a true red to a pink-cranberry.

-Dark skin is complimented by deep, rich reds or brick reds. Avoid anything to bright.

It is also important to stick to a focal point of the makeup. If you use a red lipstick, don't add a smokey eye or heavily bronzed cheeks. Instead, try a red lip with a gun-metal liquid liner for the top lid, a light coat of mascara, and a even skin tone.
