sky high

!HEELS!

i have found a great fancy for heels since i was a little girl and have a love/hate relationship with my height. i wish i was 5'9 and long legged, but if i wanted to wear my 5 inch heels, I would be much taller than my boyfriend and feel too tall all the time. but, i am barely 5'4, and am able to wear my 5 inch heels without a problem, fitting perfectly in.
so girlies, forget the height issues, whichever you may have, the higher the heels the better

oh rose, you make menswear so ladylike

Rose Byrne has not just a brilliant face and acting career, but knows how to work menswear. She does dot's her i's and crosses her t's in mixing the perfect amount of feminine details and shapes in her outfits to make it so delicate yet so hard.
An easy way to work this look is to pair trousers that are fitted in a straight or skinny leg style (please put flare trousers away) with a flowy top and an oversized or fitted blazer.
DO WEAR HEELS

lovely face in the fashion world

!Snejana onopkA!

i must admit that i am quite meticulous about the kind of models in fashion. if i don't like the model, it will take me longer to like the style that they present. compare it to when you like a certain name, then you meet someone that you dislike that happens to have that name. it ruins the name for you.

Snejana you make the fashion world just a little more tolerable!

it's meant to be

Earlier this year I found an extreme interest in the Do-si-do wedge sneaker from Keds. There was just a casual but totally fashion friendly feel about these sneak-wedges and the taupe color of them were just perfect to pair with skinny jeans in any color, loose relaxed top, and cardigan, a summery dress, or to add a kick to a more dressy outfit. As much as I wanted them the first response I got was "heck no, those are hideous". As self conscious as I am, I agreed and decided them to be a no. Ten months later they pop up in my mind and I google them. There they are, on sale and in my size. Perfecto, we were meant to be.

power on your fingers

Like the cocktail dress' empowerment to the little black dress, the cocktail ring to simple baubles and stones makes such a difference. A complicated yet simple statement ring worn alone can do so much for an outfit. Index, middle, and ring finger being the prime choices of wear; make a stylish get-up even more sophisticated and appeals to the eyes so delicately. Costume jewelry is perfectly acceptable as long as it doesn't look too 'fake' or 'cheesy'. I got lucky to have resources in LA to find all the jewelry I please for less than a meal a piece. If you don't, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Charlotte Russe are your best bet for sparkle today-lose tomorrow pieces.
We can leave the real bling to the hubbies.

what i love

I absolutely love back details. There is a chic allure of backless numbers and details that go beyond the sexiness of a uber-mini or cleavage bearing piece.

Sheer inserts in pieces also have an impeccable allure

I love love love fur, faux or fox

amature harem

The foregoing style of the harem pant caught my eye when I saw the less extreme trouser version. I think the overall shape of it is very feminine and can by worn extremely well with the right combination of tops and accessories. This blog, being about affordable fashion, has found an alternative to the quite pricey cuts of a good pair of harem pants. A trip to Goodwill will get you $2.00 pair, and so will sweats in your closet.

On a Goodwill adventure with the lovely Ry, I found a pair of grey granny trousers that worked wonderfully as a harem trouser cut because:
a. High waisted
b. Cut wide to narrow
All one needs to do is cuff the bottom of the pants to a desirable length (preferably a little above the ankle) and keep the top minimal, adding a fitted or oversized blazer to update the style. If you think you can't pull it off, I'm 5'4, not tall at all, and made it work, so can you.
I do stress though, make sure the fabric of the pants are trouser/dress pants, add a chunky belt, and do, DO wear heels. The higher the better :)

Another option that you can use from your own closet are plain sweatpants in black ( the ones that have elastic on the bottom). With this option all you have to do is cuff the bottoms up, probably roll the waist down (they are high waters!) and add a soft scoop-neck tee and a structured blazer.

Blue Tag Blazer

Fashion is expensive. It's time consuming, unnecessarily addicting, and reserved for big-city girls with nothing better to do with their time.

Just kidding! To be honest though, this is what I thought about fashion prior to August of this year. Stylist (beauty extraordinaire), photographer, and fashionista, Joyce, is to be credited for formidable change in my attitude. She taught me that fashion can be achieved at two dollars or two hundred and with five minutes or fifty. Fashion, it seems, can be for anybody.

What we hope to do, with Stain, is show that high fashion is attainable through a myriad of means. You don't have to buy bulk Chicken-flavored Raman at Sam's Club in order to save $$ for that Phillip Lim doubled breasted blazer that will set you back a good 675 bones. You can create the same Vogue look for a micro fraction of the cost; you just don't know it yet.

But what I will tell you is that the gray blazer you see in a number of the photos was a blue tag blazer from Goodwill; anything with a blue tag is only two bucks and arguably attractive as the Phillip Lim.

So a trip to Goodwill with a fashion goddess and blue tag blazer seemed to be the inspiration for Stain. Hopefully you too can find your blue tag blazer and dive into this self-empowering and creatively beautiful world we call fashion.

With love,

Ryann Lindsey

Oh My

First fashion shoot

Beginnings

Starting college and leaving good old high school means new beginnings. New beginnings that make me realize I have to choose what to do. My love of everything fashionista collides with the realities of paying my bills and choosing a major that will further my status in the world. I've wanted to design, produce, sell, clothes; but I have found that styling and everything glamazon has been my forte. Always being the overdressed in all occasions has paid with experience since kindergarten, and my low budget savvy ways have paid off.

For the past several years i've found myself collecting pictures from magazines, online sites, and fellow blogs with styles I adore, and realized, why not start one? With my gorgeous model teammate, we will rule the blogging fashion world from our little dorms in Lincoln, Nebraksa.

xoxo,

Joyce
