amature harem

The foregoing style of the harem pant caught my eye when I saw the less extreme trouser version. I think the overall shape of it is very feminine and can by worn extremely well with the right combination of tops and accessories. This blog, being about affordable fashion, has found an alternative to the quite pricey cuts of a good pair of harem pants. A trip to Goodwill will get you $2.00 pair, and so will sweats in your closet.

On a Goodwill adventure with the lovely Ry, I found a pair of grey granny trousers that worked wonderfully as a harem trouser cut because:
a. High waisted
b. Cut wide to narrow
All one needs to do is cuff the bottom of the pants to a desirable length (preferably a little above the ankle) and keep the top minimal, adding a fitted or oversized blazer to update the style. If you think you can't pull it off, I'm 5'4, not tall at all, and made it work, so can you.
I do stress though, make sure the fabric of the pants are trouser/dress pants, add a chunky belt, and do, DO wear heels. The higher the better :)

Another option that you can use from your own closet are plain sweatpants in black ( the ones that have elastic on the bottom). With this option all you have to do is cuff the bottoms up, probably roll the waist down (they are high waters!) and add a soft scoop-neck tee and a structured blazer.
